Histogram Level Editing

Histogram Level Editing window

Levels are an important traditional tool for manual work with a photo’s histogram and one of the most frequently used functions for achieving ideal color tones in photos.

Zoner Photo Studio contains many features for advanced work with photos: you can manually correct the brightness channel and each color channel separately; you can manually set border points in the image and set the gamma correction coefficient for each channel or try Automatic Color Correction. Automatic Contrast will stretch the brightness of the whole photo to its maximum values, that is, the photo will then contain the full range from white to black (this will mainly improve photos with too much grey). Automatic Levels stretches the individual colors, so it does better white balancing, but in some cases it can lead to a change to an image's color balance. The Black Color and White Color controls help you set what colors are should truly be black and truly be white by hand-selecting colors, using an eyedropper, directly from the image. Thus you can, for example, define that all points as dark as or darker than a certain color in an image should be converted to black, and colors along the way to that stretched in the direction of black.
